As of late, I can't seem to join any games at all. I pick a server and it says Connecting... but then it times out after a while and I'm back at the menu. This wasn't happening before. Anyone have any ideas?

A 3rd party page is never to be fully trusted. The server is unresponsive. Go ahead, close your game then try to open it.

The game opens fine and I can see the server browser with lots of servers and players in them, but it's just that I can't join any of them. Has everyone got this problem ATM?

Doh, it didn't open for me before, but do check http://s.mufff.in/status again, it says NP Server is having problems, like we already told you, why can't you listen...

It wasn't fine before. Shut down your game, make sure iw5m.dat is not running in your processes and start it again.

I guess. I haven't changed any time/date or firewall settings since I was last able to play it.

Try restarting your PC and unplugging your router from the power for ~10 seconds.

I don't have a router, just a ripwave modem.

same problem here....until 2 day ago worled like a charm, now cannot connect to any servers with players on it. strange......

Reverse the changes on your computer. Reinstall windows if nothing else fixes it.

The masterserver didn't get any change lately. So, if anything stopped working, it wasn't because of the masterserver.

Plus, the masterserver only retrieves a serverlist. Connection to a server is something strictly between that game client and that dedicated server.

Same problem here. Downloaded the game, put all of the files, as the tutorial says, going to the server browser, choosing a server(there are a lot of servers btw), join and then nothing happens! And it says again and again "Connection timed out".

Issue with server connection timed out is on dedi code side 100%.

 

Usually occurs on Dedicated Boxes with multiple IP's

Try the following:

 

Change your Internet Time. To do that go click on the clock down-right, then click "Change date and time settings...", then go to the "Internet Time" tab, after that click on the "Change settings..." button make sure the server is "time.windows.com" (without quote marks) check the "Synchronize with an Internet time server" box and the last and most important thing click the "Update Now" button.

allright there are a lot of ppl that still with connecting problems, i will show a trick that is working for everyone i tell, lately i think i will do a tutorial:

go to control panel -> network and internet -> network devices -> right click on ur router -> properties -> settings(wait some time)-> add->

give a name to the rule (ex: iw5m), type ur ip (go to cmd and type ipconfig for ur ip), then choose UDP and write 3074 on the two textboxes then ok -> ok

and thats it.

same here cant connect back to teckno gods edition maybe ??????

UPDATE: Today I can connect to some servers but it seems I still can't connect to a lot of them. Strange, some players can join 'em cause they're not empty.

It is usually because of the connection, when you take too much time to connect, the server automatically ends the connection and it says Connection Timeout.

I would recommend you to play on servers that are hosted close to your geographic location.
