I've searched everywhere and I couldn't find a solution.

My dedicated server was running okay, then I suddenly restarted the computer (VPS) and after that, whenever I open the shortcut it gives me an error like the file I've attached.

I have three iw5 servers and they are all act the same, that's weird.

 

And hey,

It's Windows Server 2008 R2

I have .net framework.

All the ports are open. (the servers were working fine as I mentioned.)

I've replaced the admin folder with the default one.

The shortcut's target line is fine:

+set net_queryPort 27015 +set net_port 27016 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

I didn't touch anything... :cry:

 

BTW a couple of days ago it became just like this and it automatically fixed! so I didn't take it seriously.

So, what do you say? please help me it's driving me crazy :?

Do you have .Net Framework 3.5.1 installed?

It was working properly, suddenly I woke up and it's giving me such error.

Try launching the executable instead of the shortcut.

Then wait a bit and put this command on the server's console

start_map_rotate

Sometimes the server needs more time to load (happens often on slow hard drives)

I can see a error line on "appcrash.jpg" but little crash window close this line and i can't read. But i'm pretty sure, relative with "default.dspl" file. Please read this post: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=20336#p160315 , fallow steps and if you get crash again; please take and send another screenshoot. Also, please move "little crash window" before take screenshoot.

Well I know that console error is about the .dspl file

But as I said earlier: "I've replaced the admin folder with the default one." (can't quote, sry:p)

That is another problem that I have fixed it. With the new maprotation file that error you mentioned goes, but the server will crash anyway with the same error.

Yes, i read & know that. Please fallow steps:

A1-) Cut your "admin" and "players2" folder and paste somewhere else.

A2-) Download: download/file.php?id=1765 & extract your game folder. (And don't edit files right away. You can edit later if works.)

A3-) Now, try to open your server again. If FFA Dome opens; you can continue from there.

 

If your server crash again:

B1-) We are continue with my files. (Don't edit/delete or replace them with yours.)

B2-) Go "Windows\system32" folder and find "cmd.exe"

B3-) Right click on "cmd.exe" & Run as Administrator.

B4-) Write "bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOff" (Without "".) and press enter. (You're turning off DEP [Data Execution Prevention] here.)

B5-) Restart your VPS and try to open your dedicated server again. I hope not but if crash again; please send screen shoots for server and problem details.

See, it was working perfect! Suddenly this error came out of nowhere, I didn't even TOUCH the files!

Let's try same thing with different way. Delete ".dsx" and ".log" files. You can find them in your game and "script" folder. (We are doing this because we are desperete. Frankly, i don't think related with your problem but do it anyway.)

Right click on your game folder, click on "Properties". Unmark "Read Only", click "Okey". (Mark for all folder & files when asked.)

Download "dsut.zip" from here: http://iw5.prod.fourdeltaone.net/files/dsut.zip , extract your game folder and run "dsut.exe".

Go desktop, right click on "Computer" -> "Properties" -> "Advanced System Settings" -> "Performance" -> "Settings" -> "Data Execution Prevention" -> Mark "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select" -> "Browse" -> Find "iw5m_server.exe" & press "Open" -> "Apply" -> "Okey" buttons.

Now, try to open your server again. I hope open without crash because i haven't another idea to fix it unfortunately.

At the line where the crash happens, it's a port or winsock problem.

The steps to fix that are to make sure that the server's ports aren't being blocked, and then do a winsock reset.

There are no .dsx and .log .

Unchecked Read only and applied to all files.

Tried to update the game before but it was up to date, Replaced them with your new one and the result was the same.

And I don't have access to the "Data Execution Prevention" part.

Disable the firewall and launch the server.

If it launches without problems, enable the firewall again and create exception rules for iw5m_server.exe

I've disabled it. It was the first thing poped to my head
