I did all of the 8 steps on the forum page to run a mw3 server (except for port forwarding and i created the .cfg and .dspl files myself). But the console is stuck on "executing server.cfg". Is that supposed to happen ? and how do i find my server name Like how do i play on it ? thanks

You didn't create the shortcut for the server to add the arguments (such as "+start_map_rotate")

Just do that command on your server's console

start_map_rotate

i pasted this +set net_queryPort 27015 +set net_port 27016 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

This is what I use:

D:\IW5M\iw5m_server.exe +set net_queryPort 27015 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +exec server.cfg +start_map_rotate

(I skipped "+set net_port" because I only run 1 server for tests, and "net_port" is only required for running multiple servers)

game port is usually 27015. So... (example IP)

connect 192.168.1.1:27015

Does you server still get stuck at "executing server.cfg"?

Also earlier you stated that you didnt portforward,so most probably that's why your not seeing you own server in the server list..

I did portforward and yeah it does say say "executing" i copied over what Paulo said. i tried to direct connect in the console(in game) but i waited for 1 min it said connecting and nothing else happened.

Do you have server.cfg in your IW5M/admin/ folder?
