Hello,

IW5M is having an error during initialization when I try to play. (Error during initialization:

Steam must be running for initial authentication to succeed. Please start Steam and restart the game to continue.)

Up until yesterday, it was working perfectly fine, but as of today, it is having the issue

There were no changes to the computer except installtion Realtek HD Audio driver (I used Win7 default all along) so that might be the cause.

I've tried

-Reinstall of audio driver

-Installing previous version of audio driver

-Restarting Steam

-Reinstall Steam

-Delete Cache.xml in MW3 folder

I have no idea what to do next and I don't want to remove the driver as I want virtual surround sound and all those fancy stuff

 

I actually own the game BTW. So dont say I need to buy it :S

Do you have your steam profile set to public?

 

Go to the Community tab then edit profile and click settings there you can change it to private or public.

Yup. It was never set to private it seems

Can I have your Steam name so I can confirm that I can view your games/etc? Just to be sure.
