I've been getting this extremely irritating problem. I wanted to upgrade my desktop's OS to use Windows 8. I flashed a USB Drive and tried to boot it but for some reason, the BIOS won't boot from the USB at all. I tested this on my laptop and it works fine. So I thought about burning the Win8 files onto a DVD but the BIOS won't load even from the Disc Drive.

 

Any kind soul would love to help me out?

What BIOS do you have?

There should be an option in the BIOS called "select primary boot device" or something like that.

Enter BIOS, go to boot sequence (can be called differently depending on BIOS) and select USB device as first boot device.

Quick Update: Updating the BIOS didn't do anything too.

Try F8 before bios starts. it might show you a list of device so you can choose from which one to boot.

Make sure the USB drive isnt 16gb, some motherboards wont boot off pendrives of 8gb or higher
