I am one of many that have been caught out by this error when trying to load a mod into my 4d1. I had searched for days and days and could not find any help at all- until I was given this simple fix-

 

- open IW4M

- stay on the main menu

- open your in game console (```` key, normally underneath esc)

- paste this code into your console

/cl_modVidRestart 0

- hit enter

- load your mod either by the fs/game method or via the 4d1 mods button

Ah..Well I fixing this topic title so it will stop the confusing people.

 

Also you can just simply fs_game "mods/mod" and start private match without vid_restart.
