If I were you, I would delete the old AIW folder and install it in the steam/steamapps/common/modernwarfare 2 folder. Because you will need the singleplayer map files to play the new maps and everything is all in one place.

The problem is that I installed it to my Steam mw2 folder, but my stats were not imported.

Don't install it on your steam folder, move it out off steamapps/common/ for some "security". Also take your .stat files and import it using EAM.
