Hi erveryone,

 

I installed FourDeltaOne's IW5M 3-4 months ago, and i had a lot of fps lagg.

I tried a lot of solutions (commands, nvidia graphics settings, in-game options...) and the lag was reduced by 80%!

But the lag was still there, and connexion lag also appeared.

I looked for solutions during a month, and then i finally updated my graphic card's drivers (i found all this solutions in old topic in this forum).

BUT, i just made the opposite of what i wanted to do! My game just have the same fps lagg as if i never do any optimisation since i installed it!

 

I was also searching for my connexion problems. I found, and i solved it.

Now, in the game i have fps lagg, but no latency pics.

 

I tried a lot of commands like :

r_fog 0

fx_draw 0

maxpackets 100

snaps 30

fastskin 1

r_normalmap Flat

cg_brass 0

r_distortion 0

r_filmusetweaks 1

com_maxfps 0

 

I set my options to low everywhere, and just bullet impacts on (it helps me while gaming).

 

I choosed performance on my nvida control panel, but it changed nothing, and i tried to change some things like the guy in this video : /watch?v=BDrOxn0Qm1o (on youtube), it was kinda effective.

Today, my fps are : 45 in the main menu (normal) but 20 to 35 in game. When i do straight lines it's average, but when i turn the head (with the mouse) from left to right or right to left, my fps turn to 20-25...

 

A also have this little 'mouse lag' that i saw in a recent post.

 

My ping is really good i have the 'fouth bars' and on [EU] server my ping is always the best (60-70).

 

I would like to have more than 45 fps if it would be possible, because everytime i move, i can't see anything because the fps are to low!

Nvidia Optimus? I have nvidia, but i'm not sure if i have the option optimus...

Boot a devmap and tell me what you get when you use r_fullbright 1. Also as a last resort try a lower resolution.

What about playing IW4M instead of IW5M? IW4M have lower system requirements!

(and you can use more tweaks on IW4M)

The lag was so horrible that i gave up instantanly ^^

 

 

I also tested my fps on teknoshit, they're to 90 in game...

I copied my teknogod config to fourdeltaone's, but it changed nothing...

Also map name isnt always the same as the console one, so try a few of them.

It should work from menus. Do you put / before the commands? for example boot IW5M Go to private match type in console, opened by pressing ~ (the key bellow ESC) type in /devmap mp_dome . It will but up dome if I'm correct with the map name. Once ingame type in the console /r_fullbright 1 . It should remove all dynamic lights. Tell me what FPS you get by it.

For your mouse lag have you tried changing seta r_autopriority to 1 in config_mp file and disable theatre mode recording in options

Hi, thank you for helping me!

 

I tried this (seta r_autopriority was already turned on) and my mouse lagg was reduced (i have this impression).

But fps lagg is always big!

You'll have to go on nvidia control panel (somewhere on 3d options) and define the GPU to use with IW5M

Add an application, browse to IW5M folder, and since it will only show you executables, type "iw5m.dat" in the path.

I would explain it a bit better if I could get my hands on one of those laptops to check the steps.

The easiest way is to just tell your Nvidia Control Panel to always use the High-performance NVIDIA processor.

> Open the Nvidia Control Panel (should be able to double-click it in your task bar)

> Click Manage 3D settings

> You should see "Preferred graphics processor" with a drop-down box below it

> Click it and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor"

 

Now the toaster should run all your games, instead of the potato. Much better. And easier than screwing around with getting it to work with iw5m.dat instead of iw5mp.exe, because by default it's looking for an executable and that's what causes the problem in the first place: iw5m.dat isn't a recognized executable.

 

Source: I'm playing right now on a laptop with a GT540M and Optimus, so I had to do this exact process in order to play while I'm away from home.

But r_fullbright doesn't exist in IW5

I did all your ideas, it was good, and my fps are now to 40-45....

 

But anyway, on teknoshit i have 90 to 120 fps.... I'm sure there's a way to have so much!

Just another up, i really hope someone can help me...

 

I had normal fps (~75) before, but then i updated my nvidia drivers and my fps went down... This is the 310.90-notebook-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql patch

Most likely your updated drivers cleared that setting. Another thing to look at is disabling adaptive power management.

I think it isn't because you updated the drivers, it's because of a problem that came with the update. They're working to fix it now (I think). You may try to do this (see picture) and apply some commands I've seen in the forum in the console, sometimes it solves the problem.

PD: I dont know if this solves the problem with IW5M too, you can try.

The update that fucked everything up was In IW4M not IW5M.
