BEFORE HATING ON ME AND SAYING THINGS LIKE "GO BUY THE GAME" OR SOMETHING, I HAVE THE ORIGINAL GAME ON STEAM, GOT IT FROM PRE-ORDER. I HAVE REASONS TO EXPLAIN WHY T6 COULD BE REALLY BETTER WITH 4D1.

 

Said reasons are:

 

1 - Dedicatd Servers

I mean, real dedicated servers, not that console-based matchamking BS the game currently has. I mean, c'mon, Comunnity Servers & Server Browsers are a million times superior to matchmaking, even if it does not use P2P. Admins can quickly and easily ban hackers, you can choose the map, gametype you want to play(and also if you will be laggy or not), NO SKILL BASED MATCHMAKING and last but not least, NO PARTIES.

 

2 - Anti-cheat

Okay, it seems like VAC and TAC are doing a good job. But they are not perfect. They fail. And the worst of all, they fail on people who don't deserve that. There dozens of better anti-cheats that could be used. And even if the anti-cheat would fail, the admins of the server could ban a cheater.

 

3 - Connection

I don't know why, but they don't give up lag compensation, as if was a good thing. I'm not sure if it's possible to remove it, but it would be great. Anyway, that's not a must.

 

Yes or no, with explanation. Don't flame on me, it's not gonna work.

If you are not part of 4D1 staff or something like that, then post what do you think about it.

I have T6 legit as as well and I will play it on 4D1, as:

 

1. I enjoy steam-free games easier somehow (even when I have it on Steam)

- There are literally nag screens which obstruct my enjoyment

2. Matchmaking on dedis is bad when the population is around 30K, which is the case with BO2.

- Game is laden with old, not fixed bugs (Host ended game, anyone? Nice 2007.)

3. No.

 

And yes, they have fucked up every single gametype with bad decisions. Mod support/dedi customization are desperately needed.

1. Most people enjoy those official dedicated servers with matchmaking, I mean look at Dota 2, it's perfect, the only thing we miss in a popular FPS series is Mods and Custom maps support, but they won't do that as a popular FPS series is console game now.

2. VAC does great job with detecting public cheats, they even manual ban people with private cheats, how could 4D1 improve this?

3. Lag compensation is necessary in online world ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag_(online_gaming) ), every multiplayer game has it.

 

Also why would a regular player switch to 4D1 anyway.

1 - The game should have both matchmaking and a Server Browser(by matchmaking I mean, a Quick Join button, just like other games, that sends you to the server with the lowest ping available that fits your filters. That been said, I cannot see any advantage matchmaking has over the dedicated servers.

2 - Admins.

3 - What I mean is, lag compensation is excessive on BO2. Do you remember MW2? Even on consoles, it's connection was by far the best one. That is even more visible on 4D1 Servers.
