I edited my config file in order to reduce my graphics and therefore get better FPS.

 

I edited my config file as follows:

seta r_lodScaleSkinned "4"

seta r_mode "800x600"

seta r_picmip "3"

seta r_picmip_bump "3"

seta r_picmip_spec "3"

seta r_rendererPreference "Shader model 2.0"

seta r_specular "0"

seta r_texFilterAnisoMax "0"

seta r_texFilterAnisoMin "0"

seta r_texFilterMipMode "Force Bilinear"

 

 

However, it has ruined my experience and I want to change it back. I have already tried deleting the config file and starting the game up again but I am still facing the same settings I changed.

Deleting your config file should reset your game to the default configuration. Are you sure that you are deleting the config_m2.cfg file and not the config_mp.cfg?

Shader Model 2.0 does not exist in the IW4 engine.
