THIS IS ON A UBUNTU SYSTEM (DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT LINUX)

Okay lets begin, this is what i did:

I installed steam in PlayOnLinux then from there installed mw2(it runs fine, just finished getting owned by some wallhacker on favela)

then from there i started the InstallIw4m.exe and i just didnt start, i ever tried adding it to steam and starting it from there.

any advice?

Thanks,

Henning B.

I think this happens, because the LaunchIW4M.exe is coded on a .NET Framework version which is actually not runnable on Linux.

You should try updating your game by using the Dedicated Server Update Tool, which can be found here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2151.

Then rename the iw4m.dat to iw4m.exe and try to launch it via Wine.

NOTE: I've not tested this, but it'll maybe work.

Thanks man, it worked great. Only problem is that i cannot log in, it seem to automaticly do: "FourDeltaOne.net/" + MyName. This makes it not log in :(, anyone know of this happening to anyone else?

From a post by "Seditio" a while back, it states that IW4M running on Wine on Linux will only run at about 10 or so FPS, even on a good PC. I'm not sure if it is recommended to play IW4M on Linux using Wine.

But since the person has had his problem solved, a lock will be useful.

After the amd fix, it runs fine. I used to run it on my old computer, on that one i didnt have such a hassle with wine not willing to open it.

on that old computer i had a steady 15 fps :P
