Well, that always easier than building the whole dedicated server from scratch (like happened with MW2) lol

I think it's the other way around. You can code a fully functional server for the game client without any special tools required (of course you'll have to do lots of research on how the client connects and all that stuff), but recreating [parts of] the game without access to the IW engine is impossible. (correct me if I'm wrong)

If you'll take a look at MW3 "addons", you'll see that it's not so hard to "hook" functions into the server (without the need to rebuild the whole thing).

Hmm, I was more thinking about stuff that isn't existent in the game itself (like a dev console that actually gives any output). But yeah, you're right.

That's why we need a dedicated server based on the good old aIW dedicated :)

I'm sure that they removed all the output to force players to use exclusivelly elite for stats.

Considering NTA said that the only struct he couldn't match up was the gfx_map for PatchMW2FifthInfinity.cpp, and with a dedi you dont need graphics (unless im crazy) then you just asset restrict it and modify the networking to match mw3.... might work.

Well nta could do some fixes on the source dedi system that mw3 uses(like fixing some password bugs etc).

Also you can use the addon method that it is used now( you insert a plugin dll in the server files e.g promod)

But activision after the 1.7 patch blocked almost every dvar except fov.If in iw5m this client sided blocker can be removed this will be beyond awesomeness
