Thanks for the cool game guys, but I have a problem. I can be playing away normally, but then all of a sudden my ping goes through the roof - sometimes up to 999, and I can't continue playing. I had this problem with the old alterIWnet client before but the solution then was to edit an .ini or a .cfg file (I can't remember which) and set 'enable upload' to 0 and this worked. I can't do that here as there's no such option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Because there is no upload at all, check your Internet connection.

Internet connection is fine - and I haven't got anything else running that's chewing up bandwidth either.

Your ping is 999, how is that fine? Try post here http://www.speedtest.net/ and http://pingtest.net/ results.

Well it is fine - I just get these crazy spikes from time to time when playing 4D1.

Speedtest.net result = 108ms

and Pingtest.net result:

That's about as good as it gets with my connection.

Perhaps your game is running through a firewall or hidden proxie?

Perhaps your game is running through a firewall or hidden proxie?

The only firewall I have is windows firewall and it never interferes with any MP games I play. How do I determine if the game is running though a hidden proxy?

Just check your Network settings, and make sure your IP configuration is set to automatic.

This may sound really stupid. But I got massive internet problems too. High ping's, losing connection etc. What happened was that a damn rat/mouse chewed on my LAN cable, that also provides me with internet access.

Replaced the cable and it was working like a charm again. My point being; check your hardware, specifically the cables, make sure they're not twisted much, as that can cause damage. At least try using a friend's LAN cable and such, and see if it help's.

Thanks, but all my wires, hardware etc. are fine and this ping spiking happens in no other game.
