Saw a few people struggle with this; So here is a quick tut on how to get xfire working with FourDeltaOne (works the same way as with alterIW).

 

1. Get your xfire_games.ini

• XP: Program Files\Xfire
  Vista/W7: ProgramData\Xfire

 

2. Open it with your favourite text editor and search for

[5993]

Then you should see something like this:

3. Change this

LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\InstallPath
LauncherExe=steam.exe
DetectExe=SteamApps\*\call of duty modern warfare 2\iw4mp.exe

into this

LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Activision\Modern Warfare 2
LauncherExe=LaunchIW4M.exe
DetectExe=LaunchIW4M.exe

 

4. Save, and restart xfire

 

5. If you're lucky, it should work now; If you're not, proceed with step 6.

 

6. When xfire is restarted, go to Tools -> Options -> Games;

Click on the little arrow next to "Not installed", and search for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

Set it on "Manually Detect", thn click on "Browse" and browse to your 4d1 folder in AppData\Local\IW4M , and select LaunchIW4M.exe (2 times).

 

Done

 

(You're gonna have to do this again every times xfire updates. Either you backup your xfire_games.ini and replace it when it's changed, or you do the above procedure again).
