Not sure if this has been addressed before but I couldnt find anything about it in the FAQs so I'm making a thread hoping someone can help.

 

My problem is that when the installer gets done installing it says there will be a shortcut in the start menu to launch the program, for me it never appears. I've tried running the installer as an administrator and making sure im putting it in the right folder following every step of the tutorial up to that point, but it still doesn't work. Any knowledge on how to fix this would be much appreciated

 

I haven't played on AlterIW for awhile and was saddened to find out that it was shut down, but then i was happy to find out this existed. I would love to get this working and enjoy AlterIW and its dedicated servers again.

Search for iw4m.exe or launchIW4M.exe

Searched both of them, says "no items match your search" with each

Then your install was never completed.. make a copy of your mw2 folder and paste it somewhere on the desktop.

OK well I tried installing with the MW2 folder on my desktop and it still gave me "install complete" message but it still didn't install apparently

Don't use that, use the Client Updater.

Use manual installer.
