Does anyone have tips to improve FPS?

If anyone suggests something that I haven't done and if it works, I will give you an unused 48 hour trial for Xbox.

Im guessing you have already tried game booster? Try adjusting your video settings, and turn anti-aliasing off if it isnt already. afaik, the above commands on work on devmap/private matches , or a server that has that enabled.

I have a MacBook Pro, not the best gaming laptop, not the worst either. I'd turn down most of your graphics settings to minimum. Things like anti-isotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, etc. can kill framerate, so just deactivate those. Soften smoke edges and shadows can also be de-activated. Texture detail itself for me is high, but I have specular files usually on minimum or off.

Basically pick out any graphics in the settings that doesn't inhibit gameplay and lessen them however far down you need. With my settings, I get a solid 60FPS with little/no interruptions or framerate loss for any reason.

You can use a High-FPS config (just google it.)...

I got many, many problems with FPS in CoD4, MW2 and MW3, editing some stuff in config_m2.cfg will work ;)

(example: r_picmip 3)

Or upload your config somewhere and I edit it for you.

edit: Changed config_mp to config_m2.cfg :D

I'm running on a pretty crappy video card, (Intel x4500) but I'm getting great FPS.

Just click optimal system settings, turn down the resolution, and shut off a few of the advanced settings, turning off shadows will get you a massive FPS boost, and your computer is probably twice as good as mine.

Well, won't changing all textures to low do the same as changing r_picmip and r_normal and the specular to 3?

Turn everything to low, put down the resolution and you should be fine...

Most of useful graphic commands are cheat protected(you may be able to spot enemies easier)

try this:

1. open the task manager,

2. close any programs/processes running in the background which are not being used (internet, music players, desktop gadgets etc. )

3. turning down your graphics settings to the lowest possible resolutions

- if all that doesn't make a difference, you could try going into task manager>process>'show processes from all users' then right click on the game process, go down to 'set priority' and click 'realtime' or 'above normal' , *NOTE* this isn't recommended because it can cause system instability and if your computer doesn't have a good enough fan, this can cause some serious damage to your computer hardware, i recommend only using a realtime priority for roughly 30 minutes, then switching to a lower priority.
