Randomly on connecting to a server or upon a new round starting in the current server, I get a crash with the console message

Anyone seen this before or know what is going on? I have also attached the .dmp file.

Well, that file is part of 4D1's updater. Either your file is messed up or you have some iwd that's overwritting it with an outdated one.

Delete "m2demo" folder and "caches.xml", and then launch iw4m again. That will update you with a fresh m2demo folder, and the proper popup_friends.menu file.

There was no caches.xml, deleted m2demo. Still happened. I am just using my normal Steam installation.

If caches.xml wasn't there, do this:

Open some folder on your computer.

On the address bar, delete everything and write there:

%localappdata%

press enter

Now delete "IW5M" folder and launch the game again.

Ok now I am getting the preview_mp_abandon error. I tried to download the .iwd from the common fixes thread but the download links don't seem to be working for me.

You might need the whole DLC (wich is not available here, but you'll find it on Steam store or google (DLC repository)

Anyway, the IWD links are working for me...

Thanks for all the help guys. I did all the things suggested in this thread, deleting folders, downloading the .iwd files and the dlc files. I am still getting errors. They are different every time it seems, but all involve some menu file like the one in the OP of this thread. Any ideas?

Did you place everything in the right folders?
