Adding friends currently doesn't work properly. It currently draws them from your Steam friends list, but everyone also has issues with it. We expect a proper friends list built into the client in the near future.

You add them on Steam, and they -sometimes- appear in IW4M friends list. As simple as that.

If you right click steam on the lower right corner of your PC screen, and select friends, you'll see a button on that window which says: "+ ADD A FRIEND...".

I wish I had friends...
