Whenever I try to start 4D1 I get an error saying something along the lines of the title, I have re-installed several times, each time I have used the latest updates, I have tried disabling my anti-virus, still no luck.

If you can help me, even if you're not sure if it will work, just post, I am more than happy to try anything right now.

(I'm on my phone right now, I can upload screenshots, etc. tomorrow/today if you count 12:39 as morning not night :P)

Always check that site. If everything is green, the problem is your side. Make sure you have an internet connection, no hidden proxies, and possibly have your ports forwarded. Try disabling any firewalls temporarily and see if that works. If it does, add an exception for iw4m. Otherwise, you cant try putting your PC in a DMZ.

You're not resolving the ip address properly.

I suggest you to clear your DNS cache.

Open windows command prompt and then type:

ipconfig /flushdns

notice that (for some reason that I don't know wich) DNS cache tends to take a while to clean. So, don't expect it to work right after you input the command, but maybe some 5 minutes later.

Nop, still no luck.

I guess you are using broken proxy server or you are infected by some malware, instead of connecting to fourdeltaone.net server you are trying to use 176.16.0.4, what is server in Saudi Arabia.

Is there any way I can change what it connects to, I don't know anything about proxy servers?

I checked all of the files opening with Notepad++ and stuff, and when I opened the caches file it said this http://gyazo.com/f67ef8c4417854098fbb306bd5776052

Now, I don't know if this is a normal thing or whether it's some sort of virus? XD

That's just a bit of trolling to some curious folks. It's not in any way related to your problem.

If you can't fix your problem in any way, what you can do is to set a hostname resolution rule on your hosts file.

The easiest way is by copying this into a batch and run it as admin:

@echo off
echo 176.9.46.228 iw4.prod.fourdeltaone.net > %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
