WD disks aren't supposed to randomly die, they do very good disks.. I'm not too much of an expert but I suggest checking your SATA chip (assuming you live in 2012), maybe try the ports for voltages check if everything there is fine.

I don't know too much about file recovery, but I do know that one way of fixing those disks might be to try a low level format (slow and WILL lose all data) so.. hope you get it fixed, storage dying is not funny business..

also, general discussions might have been a better place.

I recommend you to check the voltage that the PSU sends to the HDDs through the SATA Power connectors. If you want to recover files, you can try Recuva(free) and/or MediHeal Recovery(buy a license). Im not sure, but Hiren's Boot CD should have some HDD recovery tools that you can try to recover your HDDs.

Check the HDDs for bad sectors. I have a Samsung 320 GB HDD from 4 years or more and I don't have problems with it. And it's really strange for WD tech to screw up so fast. Check the SATA cables connecting the HDDs with the MB and make sure they're not folded or something.

The manufacturer does not matter for failure rate whatsoever in the general case; I've had disks from all major manufacturers have the same gradual failure pattern over the past few years.

You do know that the failure pattern of flash memory tends to be a sudden shift to complete uselessness?

Can't you just test the components on another system ?

By your description i would say it's the psu sending incorrect voltage to the components but could be another thing (i say this because all the components you said went bad , have a direct link to the psu).

I had that PSU for 2 years, I can't believe it just gone mad so suddenly.

And no, my 2 other systems are MacBook Pro and an iMac, so I can't test the components, and my friends don't know much about building PCs, so they won't allow me ro touch their systems. I have a suspicion it coukd be my mobo, gonna buy a new one and test everything then, if not, buying 1000W PSU is a good investition.

Your electricity bill will go up.
