Should I worry because I have the original MW3 and play IW5M

Well I'm switching from original MW3 to IW5M because my friends are playing at 4D1. Will 4D1 conflict the original MW3 and make it unplayable or banned? I've also heard that you need steam to play IW5M so I'm a bit worried about the detection or conflict with my original game.
