Don't save it in Program Files.. save it in another folder try the desktop and then put it back into your Program Files.

i just moved it to C:\Call of Duty- Modern Warfare 3

not in program files, if i run the updater as admin, i'll get the same error, if i run it normally, i'd get this:

Run as admin or move folder to somewhere where you don't need admin privileges to create/replace files, e.g. Desktop. You can move it back after that.

There is the solution:

 

1. right click on the launchiw5m.exe

2. go to properties

3. if read only is filled click on it and this will disable the "read only"

ok i found a solution while browsing the Forums

 

 

Go into your zone/english folder and press ctrl + a so you select all the files then right click on one of the files while they are all selected and untick the box that says Read-Only. Then try running the Launch IW5M program. If the error presists go into your main folder and do the same thing only this time apply to all subfolders as well.
