Like I said, I don't own this game on Steam. As I expected, when I tried to launch IW5M, it told me that Steam needed to be running, so I launched Steam. With Steam running, I launched IW5M again and this time I got an error message saying that I didn't own the game and that I should either buy it, try another account or do something else. That 'something else' proved to be very helpful indeed, and now I neither need to own the game or have Steam running at all to play IW5M! In short, launch Steam, then launch IW5M and if you don't own the game, the error message more or less tells you what to do!

Yeah, if you like the game, support Activision and buy it, but if you don't think it's worth €49.99, then start Steam and read the error message. I was playing it this morning and it's definitely not worth that. It's like a rehash of CoDMW2 with a lousy spawning system!
