First of all, this site looks a lot cooler than the other 2 (older and Blitz's). so I decided to join this one. On a different note, I'm a bit confused on where the community is going. I know that GBH2 is in progress now, but I thought that a Cease and Desist notification was sent supported by the law, and the servers still seem to be up and running with thousands of players online. Is Modern Warfare 2 still going to be playable and the Cease and Desist only applies to the work on the current Modern Warfare 2 build? Or will all dedicated servers go offline in a bit?

 

Also, I messed something up in my AW4mp folder, because I lost about 1 GB of memory. but I can't see what I'm missing. Whenever I start up the game it says immediately that the launcher has crashed. I have another copy of the game on my hard drive, but the stats on my computer are way better than those on the hard drive. It would be nice if someone could direct me to a link or something that lets me update my game and replace the missing files. That is, if AlterMW2 is still going to be running.

The servers for aIW are still up and running as Activision are slow, and have not replied to jerbob92 or the related people. They will be taken offline, sooner or later. Unless a miracle happens ;p

 

About the stats, simply replace /players on the hard drive with the one from your 'good stats account', as everything is stored inside that folder, and can be drag and dropped as a means of transferring stats.

Since, as Jeremy said, Activision is slow, the servers will take a bit of time before being totally shut down. Until then, enjoy your last days. Make them worth it.

I would just like to emphasize that "make them worth it" does not mean find the nearest script kiddie, drain him of his sweet nectars, and hack the remaining portion of the community into a rage induced coma. Enjoy yourselves. Make some movies with fraps. Make a montage. Learn how to quickscope. Learn how to ride a unicycle. Learn to love yourself before its made illegal, etc.
