Is it possible to host a server on my home PC, without a router? Because mine one broke, and I'm on a "direct connect"

And run a single server? AND what is the default port of the server? :27016?

The only reason you ever need to forward ports with a router in the first place is to get through NAT. If you're connecting directly to your cable modem, you don't have to forward through anything. You're already on your external IP.

Yes, same IP. Both the server's and the client's (The same PC)

I tried to launch the server, but I just get an infitive "Connecting to online services..."

Exactly, not many people use direct-lines

I've setup more than 1 server with direct connection and never even had problems with those servers.

All I can say is yes, you can setup your servers with just a modem. If you run into problems, check your server settings (you won't have router/port forward problems) lol
