I hope you all realize this is STILL illegal. The .EXE was modified, period. DLL's also. That is illegal directly according to the EULA. All you people need to wake up and stop taking people's opinions, and actually READ the Eula itself. Notice that NTAuthority and anyone else responsible for this project completely ignored my post. Now you know why. I'll probably be banned, and even this post deleted I'm sure, but if you DID get to read this, as a respected Coder and member of the gaming community, It's not the same as hacking or cheating to gain an advantage like aimbots or wallhacks, no, but that's semantics. what's being done here is STILL illegal by the terms laid out directly by the people that made the game. that's enough for me to stay away. I own 145 games on steam. there is NO way this hacked exe and dll's are worth losing that IMO. good luck to you all. this can only end as badly as AlterIW did, if not totally worse because they were shut down once. they may not be as lenient the second time. The ONLY saving grace here would be if Activision themselves gave NTAuthority and this website SPECIAL LEGAL permission to do what they're doing. I somehow don't believe that's happened. If I'm wrong, then politely show me. If I'm not, then we all know what will happen to me and this post. No disrespect intended you have done a FINE Job NTAuthority and I extremely enjoyed AlterIW while owning a legal copy of the game, and enjoyed seeing the over 40,000 people we had on our servers calculated by B3, but this could screw up a lot of people's hard earned money and time. I just cannot stand by and watch it happen. Peace. ...Seal...- IW4M: Frequently Asked Questions
Reality Check. My concern is the fact that a modified or completely new .exe file for the game has to be created to make this work on a separate network from IWnet. According to the EULA, this is ALWAYS illegal, legit copy of MW2 or not. you cannot modify, reverse engineer, or change the EXE or CORE of the game, which is why AlterIW ANYTHING was never a MOD to begin with, it was an illegality from the start. This is factual stuff from the EULA of Activision publishing, as well as the IdTech engine. I'm not judging here, I'm just confused as to why no one has brought these facts up yet. I own a legit copy of the game. I owned a legit copy of the game when I used AlterIW. This does not change the fact as why Activision sent a cease and deist order. I didn't read it, but this is a clear violation of the EULAs of many publishers, and just about EVERY video game studio known to man. I've been coding, scripting and creating MODS for 15 years, and we all know this whom are in the industry. My question is this...HOW do you get around an illegal EXE file, and avoid a STEAM BAN on my account that has over 114 games on it, other than opting to not use this service that you guys are brilliant to provide? Of course if I'm wrong, I ask that NTAuthority or any of his associates correct me themselves, as I'd love to be wrong, but EVERYTHING in experience over longer than these guys have been alive tells me I'm not. thanks for reading, and I mean no disrespect, but I'm just wanting to clarify that my 114 game steam account will be safe, even while using a Legit copy of cod6, with this "MOD" that's not a mod, but a conversion of the executable file:) thanks for your understanding, and PLEASE if I'm incorrect, and there's evidence it can be proven, by all means correct me. ...Seal... - IW4M: Frequently Asked Questions
