the problem we are having (or atleast I am having) is that when we use the com_maxfps command our fps is never a solid stable number and is always jumping around for no reason.

Uh, that just shows him how much FPS he has... ._. Does it matter if your fps counter says 120fps but your eyes can only see 60fps? 1) install cheat engine 2) change the value of the fps counter to 9999999 3) profit And you still cannot say if it's really 9999999 fps or just 60. Anyway why don't you just use vsync? LOL what are you talking about? maybe when you upgrade computer and can get more than 60fps you will find out that the differance between even 100fps and 125fps is quite noticeable. moving the mouse is so much smoother at 125 fps, any higher and i cant really tell though..

i have had this same issue since the nuketown update, differant hardware. can get 250+fps when uncapped but it never stays consistant when capped @125 or even lower.

sadly some idiot fucked up everyones fps with some kind of alt tab bullshit fix, my suggestion is to not ply 4D1 until they fix all these stupid problems, IMO i would much rather have the game back how it was before nuketown, when my fps was perfect. Having an old ported map with the worst spawns in MW2 history is not worth all these fps problems. and i love how all the moderators try to avoid the problem and pretend its not serious lol

fuck bo2 its a terrible game, please do not do anything to make 4d1 anything like bo2 lol last time you tried to change what direct x version people used you fucked up many peoples happy experiance with 4d1 plz keep 4d1 4d1 and not bo2 please stop doing stupid things to a good project.

thanks i will try that if the problem happens again, also thanks for actually trying to help me with the problem, you should be a moderator! Or you could've just looked around at the other threads. i have, and i did see someone mention this way of starting it up, but it wasnt linked with the problem i was having. so i didnt try it, but the problem seemed to resolve itself. but if you look at this post no one apart from joeyb has actually tried to help me. therfore i thought i would say thankyou.

Ghosty* And it might be related to RAM, ported maps don't use as much RAM as before, they still use more than normal MP maps, though. but then please explain why Oilrig used to be fine, then magic update comes and ruins many peoples game, now oilrig does weird fps drops aswell as nuketown and all other custom maps? also i have 12gb of ram

well basically yolarry said maybe its because the sp ported maps use more ram, that might be why fps drops, but then ghost said they dont use twice as much ram anymore, so i am thanking ghost for pointing out it is NOT a ram issue , it is actually something more complex.

Sweet, cant wait, 24 people on wasteland could be really fun IMO , and maps like fuel etc Also SP ported maps seem un needingly big, so more players are crucial. contingency is HUGE lol
