Well, I mean, it worked for me, and it might work for others, just trying to help.

Well, it fixed my problem. "Steam must be running" has never showed up for me since i did that.

I've found a fix for the "steam must be running" problem. Step 1. Start iw4m.exe, wait til it says steam must be running. Step 2. Exit steam and start iw4m.exe, it will obviously say "failed to intialize, please start steam and restart the game" Step 3. Start steam again, open iw4m.exe and it should work. -Step 4- If it wont work, exit steam and open it as adminstrator and open iw4m.exe as adminstrator too. This worked for me, hope it works for you too. Aimbat out.
