Hello everyone who's reading this, today I've been demorecording on 4d1, and accidentally recorded two maps in the same demo. Well, unlucky for me, what I needed was in the second map of that one demo.

I'm pretty sure that if this happened to you, you've realised you cannot run the second map without having some errors that either disconnect you from demo for a file, OR you get to run the map without ground, etc.

And my question is, Is there any chance, a fix or a solution to this can be made? On CoD4 you can record 10 maps at once and be able to play them without any errors, and 4d1 uses a similar system.

I hope a solution can be found to this because it really is demotivating and annoying.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't use stoprecord, it basically screws up the whole thing and you would be lucky to even get the first map to play. Sorry, but it's gone.

There should be a solution to this though, its way too similar to CoD4 and apart from that its only just files that screw it up, not stoprecord. The map should just be loading before the second map recorded in the demo starts.

Yea, there should be a solution for this, but it's not that easy ;)

IW4 (like possibly all other console CoDs, and T5) uses 'map preloading', which uses external data (in this case, obtained from party state) to load the map before connecting to the server - and thus doesn't load the map based on the server's game state.

This change apparently made map transitions in demos incompatible, as the party state doesn't get captured.

So apparently its nearly impossible to be done right? And since it didn't record the party state even if its fixxed it still won't work.
