Hello people,

 

I'm very glad with the release of 4D1 for mw3, because it's very useful editing-wise. But it appears the demos from normal mw3 don't work the 4d1 vault. Is this just me? And if it isn't, will it ever be fixed? I'm just curious because allowing us to watch back steam mw3 demos in the 4d1 mw3 makes disabling hud etc possible.

As far I believe, they do work, check IW5M is installed in the folder with the theatre mode files

You can't save the demos. You can play them back though.

I installed IW5M in my Steam MW3 folder so it is the correct one.

You can, the recent games in vault are demo files that are located in mw3/main/demo.

 

 

Anyway, what it does for me, it starts loading the map slowly, then very fast, until the map has finished loading. However, it won't start the match replay.

 

 

EDIT:

I just tried it the other way around. You can actually use 4D1 MW3 demos on the Steam MW3, but yeah, not the other way around :s

I'm trying not to act spoiled but will there ever be a fix or something for this? I don't see a reason why the demos shouldn't work because it's pretty much the same game.

IS the .demo files like the files MW3 reads in Theater mode?

newer files generally don't work on older versions of software, though older files would work on newer versions

But isn't it exactly the opposite in this case? 4D1 files work on the steam version but the steam version demos don't work on the 4D1 version? Or is the 4D1 version using an old version of MW3?
