War, is it worth it.

Our earlier generations would not agree and would explain that war is in fact a dreadful experience that will stay with you forever. Losing friends to war something that no one wants or would take willingly and this pushes them away from fighting for a cause, to fighting for revenge. What about the innocent lives, and the innocent men (referring to men that never harmed anyone before, or deserved what they got) that was lost for the preservation of our future and land. Was it worth it? Was it even remotely enough to show that we needed to take part in this. Showing today’s society that it was worth all the fighting that it took place in Gallipoli and overseas. No! People never expected war to be so dramatic, and brutal and unforgiving. Most of the men that went to war thought that it was an honorable service, soon to find out that it’s more than fun and games.

Going into war, was not what those men with families expected, many aged from 16 years old, and having to lie about there age, to take part in this onslaught. It was like signing your life away to experience hell and the dreadful feeling of losing your closest school friends to a piece of lead traveling 800km/h not weighing more that 12 grams. Was the cause not valid? And for modern society would never comprehend what it meant. If it were personal, then they would have a legitimate reason to sacrifice themselves and there friends for there society, They could consider that your enemies and opposition are defending their country and land, and their will to fight is just as great compared to ours. We are going to ’war’’ to capture foreign land, which enables us to save the future of out generations. Leonie J Campbell stats they have been taught of these conflicts by teachers and family and understand the stories told by their elders’’. This quote is stating that the younger generations of Anzacs have a vague idea of what our ancestors went through to secure our freedom and land. But does it show us that it was worth it? No as there is still fighting to today. Another example, Wilfred Owen states as under the green sea, I saw him drowning, In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, he plunges at me, gathering, chocking and drowning’’. This shows us the first hand experience that they went through.

Innocent lives were placed in jeopardy to save our future and later generations for freedom and peace, but their world today as we speak is still filled with hate and crime followed by corrupt governments. There is a lot of civil war that is going around, meaning the war those earlier generations went through were in vain, and we learnt nothing from it. The men that left there lives behind and family would regret the decision they made, if they saw the situation the worlds is in today, not talking about freedom but the logically boundaries of society and what we have turned this world in to. Wilfred Owen stats ’ Men marched asleep, many had lost there boots but limped on, blood-shot, All Went lame, all blind, drunk with fatigue’’. This shows us that the amount of stress they went through during those times of war is the experiences that we should have learned from, but we haven’t. It was brutal, brutal in a way that they have nothing to return with. This shows us that the pain and suffering that those young men aged 16 and over went through, was in vain. All because the government said ’It is sweet and fitting to fight and die for one’s country” When there was no outcome of the purpose of it.

Returning from the devastation of war, what did those men gain? Did they gain freedom, or relief, or maybe that sweet feeling of victory when killing an enemy? I would hope that they would have felt it was a worthless experience that will stay with them forever. Their friends dying next to them, but they felt so helpless at times. Yet they would still continues the onslaught of fighting for a cause that they never knew. In the Anthem for doomed youth, Wilfred Owen stats “What passing bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the stuttering rifles rapid rattle can alter out there hasty orisons’’. This is a clear example that once the dead have served their role in war and was offered a remembrance funeral, respect is paid for something we have not experienced, and then they are forgotten.

Innocent lives are lost at wars, some may not care but others say it is worth it. I say that War is not worth it. We only learn from our ancestors that war was good, but in fact the truth is that it was a stupid mistake. Those people that went to war to fight for something that they would never experience, or benefit from. How was that worthy? To us it may be, but to others, would not have lied in this life, and no worried about war, experience is the main key to justifying your opinion. We have gained the experience and knowledge, but what would have happened if they never fought? Would we all be from European descent? Or still in the Stone Age? Because our civilization proceeds war, as a bargaining chip. In today’s society, we claim that awe set out freedom we have today.

No, it's not really worth it.

Best arguments, IMO: You kill a lot of people, which is unnecessary. And all the money you spent on war, could have spent on better things.

TLDR btw.

i agree with this guy :P

hate war, love the war games
