Use the standalone updater -> viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2040 on the game folder. That will avoid the usage of %localappdata%IW4M thanks i cleaned up my folder with this http://fourdeltaone.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23848 then ran the standalone updater then deleted my 4d1 data from local appdata lauching the game in between every time and it works fine

the storage doesn't matter to me either, but the reads do. as a poor man i need to keep my 5k iops ssd for 20 years to get bang for buck so directing reads to a separate cheapo drive is important when loading anything. also i just want to keep all my maps in one place

is it possible to set a different location for the DLC installer for those of us with SSDs and separate storage drives for games. i ended up dragging and dropping from appdata\local\iw4m to my iw4m folder on my games disk after i had used the installer without a problem

for those of us running SSDs for a c drive that want to keep appdata as small as possible you can just drag and drop the content into corresponding folders with no problem.
