Hi all,

I have a problem with running Dedi server for iw5m. I setup server following the thread on forum for setting up server and when I start server, he successfully connect to service and start to load map and suddenly server just end (process iw5m_server.exe disappear from Task Manager) without any error or anything, just close.

 

This is picture before server close:

 

I setup shortcut like this: (All ports are opened and working (tested, other games works on those ports))

"E:\CoD8 Server\iw5m_server.exe" +set net_queryPort 27015 +set net_port 27016 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

 

I download generic "server.cfg" and "default.dspl" from forum.

Server is running Windows Server 2003 EE with SP1.

I try connecting to server over Remote Desktop and VNC and perform fully new install and setup and always end with same result.

Also I try to find some logs or minidumps but I could not find anything or I did not look on right place.

 

Any help on solving the problem is appreciate

add +set maprotation "default"

Added before "+start_map_rotate" and same "crash" occur again.

Also this parameter is set in server.cfg

A crash on that line usually happens when the ports that you're trying to use are not available. Are you running another server on any of those posts?

In time of running iw5m no, I try to run CoD4 server on each of 3 ports (27015,16,17) and they works normally (players can connect and play). Is there some others port to open too?

why did dedi try to run vortex?

Probably because of:

*,TDM_default,1

in default.dspl file

Well you can make your own .DSR by going to private match ->Mode's->Options

when your done just save the dsr. then load the dsr in the default dspl. simple

Ok, so I pass above problem and now I am stuck on connecting to NP:

 

I can successfully ping "iw5.prod.fourdeltaone.net" with no timeouts so it's not firewall or AV (there is no AV on server)

 

Also when I start "LaunchIW5M.exe" I got:

 

I don't know how is from 4D1 side, but I run IW4 server smoothly without any error with NP or anything.

Isn't that an anti-virus firewall blocking iw5m ?

Because all the problems you had so far are traffic block related.

There is no firewall/AV on server and IW4 is running ok :/
