I'm just wondering how do i uninstall the 4d1 files off my mw3 folder. I was going to drag the files and put them on a different folder for i can install teknogods and so i can play both version of mw3. can someone help me??

You can play both versions but in that case you'll have to make two copies of the game. One with fourdeltaone's patch and files, and one with teknogods'. but...what's the point ?

What does tekno have that fourdeltaone wont? You can make two copies but you will have to use stock zone folder, all files except map files to play telno again.

The point is you can use cheat in tekno and do the following:

1) spawn and just stand in one spot.

2) leave your mouse alone.

3) let your aimbot do the levelling up by auto killing players.

4) have some snacks somewhere or watch TV or go play with your friends some football.

5) return home and you'll see you are promoted and now you can stop the game and sleep.

 

and yeah! awesome game play with no efforts!

Wise answer:

You don't just remove IW5M files to play on tekno.

To play on tekno, you need version 1.4 of the game, wich is a lower version than the one we use.

The only way to play in tekno is by installing the game again and patching with version 1.4, as downgrading is a lot more complicated than upgrading.

Reinstall the game, apply patch 1.4, and then you can cheat again.

What are you doing putting the IW5M files in your Steam folder?!!

 

You should have copied your Steam folder to another location and then put the IW5M files in there.

 

If you want to play Tekno, then copy the folder again and have three copies of the game - Steam, IW5M and Tekno.

I know cause I first played tekno, then moved to 4D1 but couldn't play cause of the incredible lags and fps drops all the time, and the freezing too, and also the startup errors...shall I go on ? I figure that's why he want to go back to tekno.

aabir, come on, you're from Tech support, you should know better. These issues have already been explained in several topics and of course I've tried to fix it...for the people who got those issues (lags and fps drops at least) they can't be fixed, it's just a waste of time. Really, I'm sorry to say that but for me, 4D1 is unplayable. I've got a kickass connection and all but a shitty laptop and that's all I can afford for now and I am not complaining about that. I love what you guys do, I was a big fan of alteriw.net and I truely appreciate your work, but however i can't play it. Meanwhile, teknomw3, despite all the crap people say about it (and most of it is true), it is possible to play on legit servers without hackers, with a REAL SOFTCORE, mods and all that good stuff. Maybe tekno isn't the best there is, but for my situation, it actually is.

IW5M uses latest Steam files, which makes it easier to update(Terminal map, for example)

he meant the dedicated server you were trying to connect to.

 

Also, to your laptop issues, learn to right click and run the game using the better gpu

Well, I'm also portuguese, and I have a crappy internet connection (about 8Mb down and around 800Kb up)

I just refresh the serverlist and the lowest ping server there was 33 of ping. Then there were several with 40 and so of ping.

So, you complain that you can't play on spanish servers, but you don't consider playing on the ones near you...

I got 1 MBps down, 256 KBps up (), still got 60-70 ping servers, I'm from India

That was not my point. The point is that is a damm of a hassle to downgrade the fastfiles, so I recommend people to keep separate installations.

It's not that bad, its like 25mb. Thats only 15-30 seconds worth of downloading. But still separate folders is better.

Me and you know what files to replace, but most people don't. That's why things need to be made simple.
