Get server info + other console commands?

Опубликовано:

Hi!

Does anyone know the console commands to do the following (if they exist)?

Get server ip (to enter the server your friend is playing on, after he forgot the name)?

Connect to server by ip (connect xxx.xx.xx.xxx:xxxx or /connect xxx.xx.xx.xxx:xxxx)?

Level pro: Does anyone have a complete list of available console commands? I've tried searching, but nothing...

Thank you... See you ingame!

Hi, thanks for your reply..

I might be retarded, but I don't think I understand step 1. How do I find out which VPS the server is being hosted from?

Is there no ingame way of retrieving the server ip? Otherwise it would be a cool feature to implement.

Like my friend types in the console: "get serverinfo" or "get serverip" and tells it to me, so I can type: "connect iphere".

Yes you said that before, but I'm not on a VPS. I don't know how to get on the VPS of the server. I don't host any servers.

I just want a way to find the IP of an unknown server my friend is connected to, so I can play with him without having to connect to every server in the server browser with the same map and gametype.

Can I just connect to the IP of my friend. Will that send me to the right server?

No of course not... So wait you're trying to join a server that your friend randomly joins?

Yes, say I'm calling my friend, and he is already playing on some random server. I want join the same server, but he forgot the name.

What I do now is set up a filter with the same map and gametype he is playing (ie. terminal, tdm) and join servers until I find him, but it can take a while, especially if his server changes map/gametype in the middle of it all, so I have to start over.

I just wondered if there were any way for him to retrieve the IP of the server he is connected to, without having to disconnect or leave the game.

Then he can give me the IP over the telephone, and I can join the server via the console "connect serverIP"

Pressing TAB should show the name and the IP of the server...

Isn't that IW4M specific only ? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oops. :3

Well, I would have looked like a complete idiot, if that was the case.. Fortunately it is not, but that would also be a neat feature..

So there really is no way of retrieving the name or IP of a server, after you have connected to it?
