I just got the game, installed it, played for 15 minutes and realise there nothing new in this and immediatly uninstalled it, I mean they're selling Doom 3 again with the addons to make good money by pretexting a fan demand or stuff like that so the hype newbie buy this to look old school, I'm sure their plan will work very well but this is just bullshit, just install old Doom 3 with mods it'll be way better than this...

forgot what the doom3 hdr shaders looked like, though. did they need some source code mod to support glsl?

The flashlight is no longer a seperate weapon, some new maps, Doom 1 and 2 runs without DOSBox, new lighting, and Doom 2's wolfenstein maps have been censored (wtf?)

For the second part I just don't know, but they could at least have done a texture upgrade...

lol just use a new engine for old Doom games, the original one is outdated, you'll see it'll change yourself there are plenty of new possibilities and amazing maps to load with these and no need to load it with DOSBox...

 

lol se we've been waiting so long just to get the flashlight with weapons whereas it was available with mods very soon when the game came out, I mean this is only valuable for console gamers because they don't have mods, but for PC gamers this is totally useless...

I started the BFG edition, noticed the very VERY and EXTREMELY poor graphics options (but why would you have higher, since the textures from 2004 are not changed) and got disappointed immediately. Then I started the game and when I couldn't skip the meaningless cut-scene at the start I almost broke my keyboard out of RAGE (get it?) but I subdued long enough to find that.... nothing was changed.

DOOM 3 with Sikkmod and Wulf's textures is a lot better. And frankly, I do believe that this edition was aimed at the consoles, since their DOOM 3 looks like shit and I think it was issued on the original Xbox.
