well even if the servers are down it is still possible to play... using the old aIW client and IWNetServer.exe[yes online is possible to(only if u change the masterserver to "master.alterrev.net"] yes i know it is the alterFags who stole NT's work but when the servers are down it is still possible to play even on 4d1 servers due to "project synthesis"
