come on, you actually didn't execute /r_mode 1280x720, and can't differentiate the game running in that resolution from any other resolution while recording?

 

also, interesting cropping and replacing of rendered texture data - though >creating a list of env textures by hand

The game was running in 720p, and the raw recording was too; as I said, something went wrong with my rendering.

The game was running in 720p, and the raw recording was too; as I said, something went wrong with my rendering.

rendering happens during playing the game, where the rendered images get recorded by whatever recording software you use. if the recording is in 1280x720 resolution, nothing went wrong during rendering.

as in, rendering done by the video editing software to create the final file.

video editing software doesn't render, it encodes.

When you edit a video and add VFX, SFX or anything else it is called "rendering".

not really in the 'anything else' case, and effect rendering is still separate from encoding - resolution remains an encoding component no matter how you put it.
