Hello again my fellow deltas, been a while.

 

Connected today to play on a server i knew for a while, from brazil IPGAMES 24H DOME DOM is the server's name btw.

It's rare, but sometimes we do have to face an aimbot, wallhack, or so user, not a big deal since Steam has a lot of these as well, and i can't play IW4 in the PS3 for the same reason, a lot of hackers.

 

So, this time , this hacker DID have some kind of control over the server, or so it seemed.

Anyone who pressed the TAB key to check out the scoreboard, had a fatal crash message and the game would simply close.

 

In few minutes, everyone left the server, of course, no one wants to play with such kind of problems around.

 

Well, what i want to ask is, is this some new kind of hack, has it been around for some time? Is there any kind of advice the administration could give the server owners for protecting their servers without having admins online all the time? Specially against this kind of problem, if it was just for the Aimbot or so, i wouldn't mind, there'll always be losers so no big deal.

Uhh, I remember Prodiigy doing something like that back in aIW, it got detected quite soon though.

Maybe the cheater does host the dedi, thus hosting a malicious mod or so...

The "hack"'s made so it crashes your game, you can be the most random player ever and it will work. Anyways Welcome back! (even though I didn't know you )

As far as I know, IPGAMES brazilian host only hosts arev IW4 dedicated servers (outdated server code).

So, don't expect safety on a code that stopped being developed like 1 year ago or something.

If they're too lazy to update their servers, just play on other servers. You got a list of updated brazilian servers on a sticky on the brazilian/portuguese section of the forum.

He said it has 'DOME' in the server name, so he is playing IW5M.

Exactly Ghosty, the server only runs DOME , this specific one is Dome in Domination mode. They have the FFA one as well.
