Each time a launch MW3 I get this message "IW5m.dat has stopped working" I have no idea its happen. It just keeps crashing.

Recently my laptop was also hit the reveton virus and I'm not sure if that has to do something with it.

iw5m.dat crashes are commonly caused by anti-virus applications.

Maybe the anti-virus that you used to get rid of the virus is now blocking iw5m.dat, preventing it from running properly.

I don't have a anti-virus program.

Though I'm getting weird messages from my firewall.

If you installed some crazy firewall, it might be it.

Im pretty sure you have Windows Firewall, if so just disable it..

Or be smart and unblock it from windows firewall.

Check if your IW5M.dat is intact, if you changed it's extension, change it back to .dat.

Unblock it from Windows Firewall and be sure to not disable it because it can lead to an infection of your system.

 

There should be plenty of tutorial on how to unblock a program from Windows Firewall.
