IW5M has always shown higher ping that I would get via a tracert, but tonight I'm getting a ping in-game of 180 - 200 on my US server. Doing a tracert shows an average ping around 35. Is there something going on tonight that is causing the ping display to be wrong in-game? Is something causing the ping to actually rise when connecting with the game? I trust the tracert's ping to be correct over the game, so I'm just wondering if I'm the only one getting this tonight.

I have no idea, this is just a wild guess, but i think that the in-game ping goes through 4D1 master server and then to your server or something. And the "normal" ping goes straight to your server. That would explain the raised ping in-game compared to the "normal" ping.

I'm talking about the ping displayed in-game. I was just on my US server and another member of my community was also showing high ping in-game. My in-game ping is displaying much higher than the tracert.

The in-game ping has always been higher than a tracert, but not as high as I'm seeing now. The ping to my US server is around 35ms when doing a tracert. In-game, it would typically show around 65 - 80, but now it's showing anywhere from 100 to 200. Everyone on the server is experiencing it.
