we play in a cafe,we keep getting fatal error on just 2 computers while joining a server. i have all iw files in main i.e from 0 - 23 and i have no iw files in m2demo folder.

I have tried copying game from another computer(On which game runs perfect) but still same, i have tried deleted fourdeltaone folder in registry ,but still same.

So basically game version is not problem because same game is running absolutly fine on lan computers ,its just those 2 computers.

If i copy full game folder from lan, then one time game runs fine. But when 2nd time someone tries to play then again fatal error while joining server.

Attaching the dmp file too.

Make sure you run the game as an administrator.

If anyone is questioning this, I say it because "Exception Information: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

That means that the game cant read something from the RAM. Try to reboot your system.

I am running the game as administrator and i have tried rebooting several times. Only sollution that i was able to find is that, if i delete the file "caches" from the game folder, then i can run the game and join any server . BUT if i quit the game and change the fd1 player id and reloggin, then again fatal error on joining servers, then again i have to delete "caches" file ,in order to join server :/

Please help

Open DBNetwork.Indigo.log and see if there's any file that keeps being downloaded.

If that happens, then we'll try to realize why does it happen.

Anyway, you can create a simple batch file to launch the game and always delete caches.xml and iw4m.ini before launching the game.

@echo off
if exist %installdir%caches.xml del %installdir%caches.xml
if exist %installdir%iw4m.ini del %installdir%iw4m.ini
%installdir%launchiw4m.exe

Since you said that you copied the game from a computer to another, I assume that you have the "manual installer" inside the game folder.

"%installdir%" assumes that the batch is ran from the folder where the files are.

Seems like Chrome adds/overwrites files that cause this error.

Seems like chrome keeps fucking ieshims.dll and ieframe.dll registries (atleast these 2 are what I got, don't know what might me missing after that)

And I say that's chrome because those errors happen quite commonly on people who use chrome as their main browser.

Anyway, thanks Rawlood for mentioning that uninstalling chrome will fix it.

Might be caused by some chrome addons since not all people using chrome have such kind of errors.
