First time building a new PC..

Опубликовано:

So, I'm thinking of building a new PC, a couple of months from now, my budget would be around 800-1000€. Do you think you can help me choose some stuff ? Then post below. :>

Anyways, I'm also thinking of buying it from a 'local' website( http://www.mimovrste.com/katalog/2582/komponente ), which should be fairly easy to understand, well if you don't then either use Google or ask me. Thanks :3

Well you would want to spend most of your budget on the CPU and the Graphics card. If you want some decent speed get an SSD for the OS and a HD for all your files

._.

Did I say I'm looking for stuff that exceed my limit ? No. And as far as I'm aware you can get fairly good stuff for a fairly cheap ammount of money.

I have COPY-PASTED from another thread, prices are in INR (Rupees) not USD ($) pardon that,

an i5-3570k or an i7-3770k with a z77/lga1155 mobo like this http://www.flipkart.com/msi-z77ma-g45-m ... d21dd41712 or http://www.flipkart.com/asrock-z77-pro- ... d21dd41712

although I'd recommend you chip in Rs.1000/1500 more for a 2 pci-e slot mobo for future crossfire/sli purposes,

A 550 Ti http://www.flipkart.com/forsa-nvidia-ge ... 99673e5721 or http://www.flipkart.com/galaxy-nvidia-g ... 99673e5721 will cost you around 6-7k if you buy from a dealer (I recommend you don't order online)

Corsair Vengeance and Ripjaw Gskill are the best affordable RAM out there, buy http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-vengean ... 0vengeance X2 (2 times), I'd tell you not to buy a single 8gb Dimm cuz it won't support Dual-Channel and your bandwidth won't be doubled!

I bought a Dell ST2420l recently..around Rs. 12000, couldn't be happier!! :)

A psu these days is very important, so get Coolermaster GX series or Extreme II series or Corsair AX/HX or maybe TX series, 650 watts, 750 if you plan on future SLi/Crossfire.

I have a 3.5G deathadder and its awesome, get the new 4G DA 6400DPi and Goliathus mat for under Rs.4000. no question.

also if you have dough to spare, get these:

1) A decent after market cooler eg:Coolermaster Hyper EVO 212

2) A well ventilated case eg: Corsair Carbide 500R

3)An SSD (for booting) eg:Samsung 830 SATA-III 6GB/s 64GB/128GB..

I recommend you get all this from a dealer, as he'd give you the latest prices and discount you for buying everything from him.

I am an AMD fanboy but I'd recommend you get 3rd gen/2nd gen i5/i7 cuz bulldozers are fail, AMD are just biding their time, they'll come good in 2-3 years.

Are you going to keep anything from your current PC? If yes, what are your current specifications?

Also, that store seems rather expensive, try to find a cheaper store.

Actually no. As it's a laptop, 3 years old too, closing up on 4. Hmmm, might try to scoop around to see if I can find anything rather cheap. Which stuff would you recommend ?

Get a

Intel i5, 8GB of Ram, 500GB HDD, nVidia GTX580

Its quite cheap also..

They don't seem to have a 580, though. Also, is 1GB for GFXs good for later games, or should I go for something along the lines of 2GB ?

Anything you mentioned in your PC "upgradation" thread exceeds your budget. But, unlike him, you asked us to do the impossible and build you a $1000+ PC for $550 you have. On the other hand, he has realistic expectations, €800-1000 is enough for a decent PC, and he isn't even asking for things like 4-6 cores with minimum frequency of 3.10 Ghz, "Beyond HD" (Have you misspelt FullHD, or you really mean Beyond HD as in 2560x1440?) monitor with high refresh rate, preferrably 16GB of RAM and Razer Keyboard and Deathadder mouse like you do, while he actually could afford most of this.

Well, I'm going for anything in my budget(I can always stretch it a bit I guess), as long as it's in the 'normal standards', i.e. it will last some time, life-wise and game-wise :P

And seeing I'm going to have my birthday soon, and I'm going to be working for a month, which both of these thing will get me somewhere around 850-950€, and I can still ask my parents to chip in, so money is not really that much of an issue.

Also, I'm going to find the monitor, mouse, keyboard, case, etc. on my own, lol.

Exactly. Money is never an issue for me if I'm sure what I'm getting has the best price/performance ratio. I rarely do an overkill (well, HD5870 was, but it was a worthy investment, it's 3 years old and maxes out 95% of the newest games.).

I just need to save up on money a bit more, hmm... But yes, I do agree, as long as it's a good investment and it won't be 'bad' a couple of months later, money is then not an issue.

"HD" is 1280x720.

-The i5 3570k could be changed to an i5 3450 or i5 3330, but this would result in losing the ability to overclock.

-€99 isn't actual price of the motherboard, that's a discount, expect it to be around €120.

-Changed the 7950 to a 7850, since you mentioned in your post that you still need to buy the peripherals.

-The HDD could be swapped for any HDD or an SSD.

-The case is up to your preference, make sure it is big enough to fit everything, has a bottom mounted PSU, cable management and proper airflow.

-The RAM could be swapped for something cheaper.

-The PSU could probably be swapped for something cheaper as well.

How much RAM does that have ? Also, how much GB does the GFX card have and is it a fairly good one ? And how long would you expect it to last(the PC) ? Will see how much it would cost when I get back on my PC.

Techically, yes, but that would mean you agree Beyond HD is Full HD?

How much RAM does that have ?

8GiB.

Also, how much GB does the GFX card have and is it a fairly good one ?

2GiB, should be good enough to play most games on maximum at 1920x1080.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/549

And how long would you expect it to last(the PC) ?

2-3 years, maybe longer. Depends on what you're going to do with it, don't expect it to play every game after 2 years on maximum without a single upgrade.

Will see how much it would cost when I get back on my PC.

Beyond HD could be any resolution with more pixels than 1280x720.

Beyond HD could be any resolution with more pixels than 1280x720.

That's some stubborness. As 1920x1080 is considered HD too, beyond HD would still be more than 1920x1080. Beyond HD can't be between 1280x720 and 1920x1080 as that's HD.

1920x1080 = 1080p = full HD

1280x720 = 720p = HD

Beyond HD = anything higher than 1280x720

This is not a difficult concept.
