I have had a pretty big problem with my custom built PC for a while now, and i think i need to fix it.

So to start off, i have an ASUS Motherboard, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, an Intel i7 @ 3.06GHz, an ATI Radeon HD 6670 GPU, a 150GB Hard Drive, and Windows 7 64bit. My problem here is that my PC likes to randomly freeze completely. When it does, the only thing i can do is hit reset. It is SOOO annoying becaus i don't get to save my work and anything i was doing is lost. One thing i think about this, it seems to only happen, or at least most of the time happens, with 32Bit applications.

Any help?

>only happens with 32-bit software

isn't that because that's most software?

anyway, attach a second PC and use the kernel debugger.

May i ask how to do that? I'm not THAT good with computers.

I have just ran the Memory Diagnostics Tool and it told me there were problems with my hardware. Is there a way to find out which piece of hardware is having the problems?

Another thing i have noticed about my PC, Steam seems to make it freeze faster than any other game or Program on my PC. Not to say Games and Programs don't freeze it, but Steam makes it freeze in about 2-5 minutes after a fresh startup of the PC! Yep, after i startup the PC, start Steam, the computer only lasts at MOST 5 minutes until it completely freezes and i need to manually press the Reset Button.I also get Blue Screens like PFN_LIST_CORRUPT and the most common, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Any other ideas about this before i settle in on buying a new CPU, and new RAM?

Try removing your RAM, cleaning the parts, with what it connects to mboard(don't remember how it's called). Had similar BSOD messages, randomly tried it and it helped so worth a try. :D

Most likely RAM; remove one of the sticks, if it still crashes, put that one back in and remove another. If still doesn't work, there's a slight possibility that both sticks are damaged so try another RAM. If there are still errors, it could be lots of things, but first troubleshoot RAM like I told you before I start writing walls of text.

Well i figured it was the RAM but wasn't sure. It's really hard to troubleshoot the RAM since the crashes are random. I guess i could start Steam and check if it crashes. But either way, i've already ordered new RAM so hopefully the RAM will work. If not, the CPU might be a problem.
