Well with only 26K forum members, FourDeltaOne still only sits at about 1.7% of the population of AIW at the time of its closure (which was 1.5 million unique players). Mind you, many of those AIW players, since registering, did go inactive, stopped playing, etc. But still...not 98% of them. We need to make 4D1 as popular and as famous as its predecessor.
YouTube is the best way IMO. YT videos are what MADE Minecraft a phenomenon. User-created demo videos and gameplays brought it into the spotlight and made it the PC (and now 360) gaming icon it is today.
Unfortunately, with ACTAvi$ion breathing down our throats about every little nit-picky detail in YouTube videos promoting 4D1...that outlet of advertisement is seriously hindered. What I guess I'm getting at is...we need to be resilient - fight for our right to post gameplay. We need to find away around the legalistic bullcrap...because what lies beyond it is a healthy, rich community, I think.
I'm in the process of posting my second video for 4D1, and Activision hasn't bothered to ride my ass about it...yet...I have a feeling there is a way to make this game popular on YouTube. We just need to keep plugging away at it.
