It could be just me... but I feel the game is getting worse and worse and here is why!

- More cheaters than there used to be (a lot more!) Sometimes it's even fun because I somehow get a better score than that guy using a blatant wallhack and shooting through walls; most of the times it's just frustrating though.

- No restrictions in servers! I can handle a few tubers and a couple of guys with deathstreaks but it looks like people abuse unbalanced perks and stuff ALL THE TIME... so much that it doesn't even feel like playing a shooter some times

- Always the same maps! As my dear old friend Bruce Chatwin said in his nice essay "anatomy of restlessness", the therm FUN comes from the french word "divertissement", meaning DIVERSITY; playing the same map over and over again won't be fun for so long, we need a variation in gameplay! servers are running terminal only, rust and sometimes highrise, it's very hard to find a server with a different map and play on it normally... i mean, no sniper only, no search and destroy, no cheaters, no abusive behaviours (as listed above), server filter can't help you with that D:

- lag!!! Yes, this is the most common excuse in fps games but i'm talking serious right now. I feel like the precision of my shots has become worse lately, as if I am lagging, even though i never have more than 60ms ping... as if it was a packet problem or server-side lag.

Well a nice mixture of all these amazing features is making the game very frustrating for me.

 

Did you guys notice any of the problems above?

I don't want to flame, please answer and discuss politely if possible!

Answer for all your problems; create your own goddamned server and run B3 on it.

Well, these were just the reasons why I started my own server. Well not exactly the same reasons, but I just wanted a server that didn't have any crappy mods or limitations (No claymores, no tubes),

just plain Classic S&D. Second reason which made me start it was the fact that most servers don't have enough admins, or they give pathetic 2-hour bans to hardcore aimbotters at most. So now we've got a server up with pretty much always at least one admin online.

Tubing is limited to 2 per round and ump is nerfed, as it was pathetically overpowered, and so is g18 akimbo and model akimbo. I wanted to keep them as they're part of vanilla s&d, so I just bumped their damage down so noobs don't get easy kills.

cheaters and all these crap are always there for online gaming. that's why i kept my aiw last update totally intact with a nice offline/lan launcher i can use to play with nice bots...though i did have some of the best online gaming experience ever playing at good old aiw a year or 2 ago with real elite players...just so many servers to choose from way way back.

I wish more dedicated server owners were like that.

Cheaters ?

Try using that at your advantage for a change,

most of them are retarded and slow,

and most of them get annoyed quickly and just quit

when you keep going at them with the shield.

Or when they keep running in your clays or c4

or whatever you might think of that will tell them

that even if they cheat, they still suck.

In my country (Italy) good internet almost doesn't exist, you can't have a good upload speed and a connection stable enough to host a server (as a private).

It's really VERY hard to find server hosting services that support this game.

Most of them won't let me access the console or give me the possibility to install b3, meaning that (as i said in the main post) i have to use rcon tools.

Rcon tools are VERY VERY bad and bugged, i can't access the playerlist most of the times.

So it's pretty pointless to get my own server if the service is so bad, it's just a waste of money.

I was the owner of Petriccio Server Vanilla, don't know if you guys ever heard of that, most players were friendly and mature.

I had to stop renting it because I was almost unable to kick cheaters.

For me that sounds like a lame excuse of an excuse. The one I'm renting from has got low ping to all of europe, and B3 working fine. And the price is around 100€\year.

Haven't had downtime or any problems with it.

I rented alteriw/fourdeltaone servers from different services over the past couple years.

The alteriw server (first one I ranted) was perfect, it even had an excellent anticheat apparently...

I hardly ever had to kick a cheater and rcon tools worked very well with it.

Then i ranted a alterrevolution server from a german host, I never had less than 80ms ping on that one so I decided not to renew the service.

Then I rented one on gamehosting.it, considered one of the best host... Well it was the worst one, we couldn't even access directly to the server console, none of the rcon tools worked, we couldn't install b3 nor anything else on that server.

I am not going to rent another server from a random host hoping it will offer a decent service.

That is a waste of money IMO.

I think you're talking right for the 1st time, but you forgot that your admins are not that much experienced and they ban people for their legit gameplay, for example. me or Alkaline guy because movement like strafe jumps, pre-aim, sound-whoring is hacking these times, aint it?

That's a very nice idea, I'm not very experienced with this kind of server managing but I'll give it a try!

yeah i wont advertise my server's but i know from experience that if i try to go to many other servers, there is always a cheater on, or a tuber, luckily our servers have admins 24/7.

Play on populated servers and report cheaters on their website or buy a own VPS/Gameserver.
