Hi guys.

I have a very crappy pc and I googled a little and found some tweaks (eg. sm_maxlights) that could give me a much needed fps boost.after editing the cfg and setting it to read only .The settings do not change. So my question is that, are these settings locked? and if they are is there any chance of being able to tweak the cfg in the future?

sorry if this has been asked before

1. have you edited config_mp.cfg and not config.cfg?

2. are you sure the stuff you edited is not cheat protected?

Yes I have edited config_mp.cfg and I have also set it on read-only.And I do not know if the commands were cheat protected or not. These tweaks do not give me an advantage over others so they must not be cheat protected right?

sm_enable 0 would do better for your framerate than sm_maxlights, as it would disable all dynamic shadows

already done that too :/

the only thing left is to disable dynamic lighting but i cant seem to find the command for it in the cfg.

Any suggestions?
