I know about the ecological pyramid we human tend to be the secondary consumers ( I actually paid attention in biology ) .

There is a problem with importing soil , if you grow a plant in a soil natural to that land the nutrients the plant consumes are replaced by natural means like erosion (dragging land with wind and rain normalcy drags nutrients aswell ) making the soil fertile enough for a couple of generations more , if you import it that won't happen as the nutrients the soil will gain are not the ones you need ( if they were you would have to import it ) . So you are going to need to import some more or fertilize it with basically poo. Poo comes from animal farming and sometimes from human (but that is rare nowadays ). Without the large animal farming we have the rest will go down as well , the food that animals eat is mostly paid back when they sell the residue for people to make fertilizer or they make it in-house and use it to grow their own crops .
