ok , so i have been happily playing 4d1 for a while now but i am having some really weird issues, for example the map terminal is now unplayable, frames per second comes to a complete halt at some places and there is no reason for it too do so. i have a good computer (i7 @3.4ghz, 12gb ram) but my graphics card was only ВЈ60 so its not quite up too standards with the rest of my hardware, this being said i used to be able to get a consistant 125 fps on every level , no lag what so ever. now on terminal , my game will freeze on certain parts of the map. then go back to 125 fps.

 

i was messing about tryiong to resolve the isse, i was in an EXP server, they allow you to press 'n' and the game changes config to a 'fps booster' , with this fps booster on i could get over 500 fps, but i still get freezes. at first i thought it was the servers i was playing on, but even in private match terminal is an utter lag fest.

 

i even tried limiting my fps too 30 , to take the load off th GPU, this infact made me get MORE fps stutters and drops.

 

This is really pissing me off so any help is much appreciated, just jumped on Cod 4 and i do not get the same issues on cod 4.

THANK FOOK, even though it is annopying as hell i feel better knowing it is happening to other people aswell.

there is already a topic about it nta said: try to use the software whireshark( log file ) while recording so he can check it where it comes from , but i really think its the 4d1 main server coz on every server this problem appears and its since yesterday :S

The thing is , Terminal has been messed up for a while for me, i just stopped playing that map, it has only started happening too me on other maps very recently, Skidrow is the mopst noticable

hmm i noticed that not everyone has this problem , but still a larg number of players get it , i mean i was in a server with 12 players and nearly 40% percent said fps spikes , but the rest said no its good , thats weird xD so you are also one of the lucky guys who can play it xD btw could it be the fact that the server we played on wasnt on 4d1 i guess its called legacy or something ? maybe thats the reason , its not the 4d1 masterserver , its the other sites mainserver that makes issues ,i will check it now

I agree guys, not everyone, but only some people got this issue , even though i have stable 333 fps it drops down for a sec or two or even more to about 10-40 fps.

I love 4D1 but this is not cool, and its not our fault, i was playing in a server happily yesterday afternoon, went to mates to chill , came back a few hours later and every server i try play is laggy. my computer did not just decide to start dropping fps.

maybe you are having another issue, internet connection lag it sounds like, but me and many others are experiencing serious fps issues and it is NOT our hardware.

It just got alot better for me ever since I posted that. I think that last fix might have done it for me. Any other results?

im still getting drops.... i even checked on the exp server with fps booster enabled,normally i get no drops with max settings 125fps, so getting fps drops with the booster enabled ( pretty much the LOWEST graphics settings available) doesnt make any sense

I got this on Rust as well. Something that helps me a bit is to lock the fps at 91 (using com_maxfps 91). You still get those spikes, but not as often.

I dunno if its because of the fix that nta did but is solved ! I can tell what i did :. I used a temporare file deleter from oldtimer dunno if it has something to do with it xD

This might just be some servers/maps , was just in WZ sub base and encountered absolutely NO fps lag at all. this backs up the fact it is NOT hardware related.
