NTA isn't going to remove synthesis, it's the only reason the sites aren't at total war. As for the cheaters, I agree it's the plan's big shortcoming, but we can't make them do anything about it. And we need those extra users.

I know that cheat detection semi works for 4D1 and the number of hackers before the pseudo merger was much much less, I know aRev has little to no cheat detection and even less enforcement, What more do i need to know? How long exactly do you think this will last when:

Also, if you own the server, turn off the server2 dvar, then you should have no aRev players.

you have aCI you say? Thats why i was able to google arev hacks, find one in under 5min, jump on a server turn it on for 2min, logoff then get right back on. Its doing a fabulous job.

As for not eveyrone who is good is a hacker thing you just felt the need to say, Id rate myself as a above average but no ware near competition good, and when i spec half the server well i sit and have a cig and watch 9-12 of them tracing people though walls, Yeah i'm pretty fucking sure they are hacking dickwad.

 

Oh and i try and give people the benefit of the doubt before i run my mouth, and have been playing on and off since aRev started when alter died. I just kept saying to myself they will get to it eventually, but at this rate it seems to be going noware, And i do enjoy the work being put in, but its all for not if random joe blow can't play a hack free game.

Holy shit guys, he made a valid and correct point and you turned it into a flame war. Calm down.

Honestly if you step back and look at it the only reason anyone went to aRev over this was, A) They ware up and "running" first, and They did not require steam. (Yeah there was a patch but the average user, the users you want in droves, just want to download a rar file extract it and play, and this is something you have going for you now)

 

Now that 4D1 requires no steam, is more stable, more reliable and has better anti cheat, Id say they'd all come over here asap if this pesudo merger ended, hell they'd all come over in a heart beat if the anti cheat on 4D1 was just a TINY TINY bit better.

 

Break it down your projects are about the same now, for all real purposes, So make your service better, Provide better anti-cheat, Keep the reliability and stability up like you have, and ditch aRev, You have the better coders,dev's, and user-base as a whole. aRev would fall flat on there face trying to catch up now that your steamless and much more user friendly to setup.

4D1 is the superior service hands down, Less lag on servers, Better anti cheat, Master server reliability is atleast 4x better then aRev, You actually have people who write the code not just copy and paste it. I say fuck aRev and just do your own thing, your service at this point can speak for itself, all thats needed is the anti-cheat be beefed up and advertise as much and you will have all there users and then some in droves. Or just merge the entirety of the 2 projects and use the same client, pool your resources and user base, This running 2 clients thing only serves to make things more complicated and making cheating/hacking/mod support/dedi support ect much much harder to enforce/optimize/support/ect.

But this bug will be fixed, I assume. In which case, the problem remains.
